FRESH from a very successful Easter concert, Skipton Choral Society is looking ahead to celebrating the Queen's Platinum Jubilee with a performance at Christ Church, Skipton on Saturday, July 9.
The concert programme is packed full of music heard throughout the Queen’s 70 year long reign.Tickets are available from choir members, at the door or via email at tickets@skiptonchoralsociety.com.
In December, the choir will be teaming up with the York Railway Institute Brass Band in what is believed to be the first time Mozart's Requiem has been performed with a brass band.
The concert will be performed twice – in Skipton Town Hall on December 3, and at Selby Abbey on December 10.
Skipton Choral Society is welcoming new members to an open rehearsal at Christ Church, Cross Street, Skipton at 7.15pm on September 12. There are no auditions, but an ability to read music, even if it basic, is a help. All voices are welcome, particularly tenors and basses.
