RECENTLY, I had a nasty fall and damaged my spine which put me out of action. I have been humbled by the care and dedication of our wonderful NHS.

Firstly, a spell in A&E made me very much aware that the hard - working staff are not all appreciated by some of their patients. I learned new vocabulary and witnessed levels of behaviour that was not acceptable towards the long - suffering doctors and nurses who were doing a remarkable job in trying their best to help them.

Secondly, the wonderful team of angels, namely, the collaborative team who quietly and seamlessly took over all my personal care and comforts. Visiting my home twice a day for two weeks, all so gentle, too many to name, but all of them so very well trained and coordinated.

Lastly, the enablement team took over for about another two weeks. These lovely, more local nurses sorted me out with both personal care and meal preparation etc. Such a tremendous help. I am most grateful to each and every one of them.

I also need to mention our own amazing Dr Davies and the Townhead Surgery Team. Thankyou all so much.
