A SKIPTON estate agent is aiming high as part of an epic mountain adventure to support a children’s and young people’s hospice.

Helen Carter, branch manager and Emma Field, sales manager at Dale Eddison’s branch in Skipton high street, will join 10 colleagues as they bid to conquer the summits of the highest mountains in England, Scotland and Wales within a 24 hour window.

The National Three Peaks challenge forms the centrepiece of the company’s pledge to raise £25,000 for Martin House Children’s Hospice, as part of the firm's 25th anniversary year.

Helen and Emma’s adventure will begin with an evening climb on June 27 of Scotland's 1,345m-high Ben Nevis before travelling at dawn rises to conquer the 978m summit of the Lake District's Scafell Pike.

From there is will be a dash to Wales to scale 1,085m high Snowdon and Helen and Emma have set themselves a timescale of between 4hrs 30mins and 5hrs 30 mins to complete each climb.

The overall walking distance is around 23 miles and the driving distance spanning the three countries is 462 miles. The total ascent is more than 3,400 metres.

Dale Eddison, which is part of the Linley & Simpson group, launched its charity partnership with Martin House Children’s Hospice six years ago and has raised more than £100,000.

Helen said: "This represents, by far, the most exciting yet daunting challenge we have set ourselves in our company’s history. Martin House has been a key partner on our journey and we are thrilled to support its amazing team once again."

In addition to Helen and Emma, the dozen daredevils include founders of Linley & Simpson, Will Linley and Nick Simpson, as well as colleagues from across its Leeds headquarters and its branch network across Yorkshire including Aydin Arslan, Helen Carter, Martin Elliott, Kerry Ferguson, Emma Field, Kathryn Miller, Lauren Sayles, Greg Smallwood, and Mark Willetts.

Helen, Emma and the team will be waved off from Martin House at dawn on Monday June 27 and will return the following day. It will be guided throughout by mountain leaders from Kuta Outdoors, a West Yorkshire-based specialist in UK-wide hiking and outdoor team-building events.
