SKIPTON Town Hall will be celebrating the Queen's Platinum Jubilee by inviting children and families to get crafty, with magical puppets and by playing host to community choir, the Voices of Craven.

'Get crafty' on Wednesday, June 1 will be a special jubilee version of Craven Museum's 'make and take' family craft sessions. Parents and children will be able to make brightly coloured flags, bunting and crowns to decorate their homes, or to take along to the street party on Sunday June 5 on Skipton High Street. The sessions are free, but booking is essential.

On Friday, June 3, Lempen Puppet Theatre presents 'cardboard carnival'. The organisers of Skipton Puppet Festival have taken the music of Camille Saint-Saëns, and an exploration of cardboard, to make a fun, visual production with no text, to leave audiences inspired by both the animal theatricality of the music and the creative potential of the simple cardboard box.

On Saturday June 4, the Voices of Craven choir present Handel Zadok the Priest, Hallelujah Chorus Holst I Vow to Thee My Country and much more in their summer Jubilee concert.

To complement the Skipton High Street ‘Jubilee Big Lunch’ street party on Sunday, June 5, the town hall will be live streaming the Jubilee Pageant at Buckingham Palace in the Concert Hall. It will be a free drop-in event and The Hub bar will be open throughout serving drinks and cakes.
