A SKIPTON disqualified driver who was caught behind the wheel of a van has been handed another ban and 135 hours' unpaid work.
James Featon, 25, of Roughaw Road, had initially denied driving a Ford transit van while disqualified at New Road, Ingleton, on August 8 last year, but changed his plea to guilty.
He was sentenced at Harrogate Magistrates' Court on May 16.
Featon was banned from driving for 12 months, ordered to carry out the unpaid work and participate in a 12-month community order to include a rehabilitation activity requirement up to 15 days.
He was also ordered to pay a surcharge of £93 and court costs of £620.
No separate penalty was given for driving without insurance but his driving record was endorsed.
