IT'S 'Pride Month' in June and there are plenty of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBTQI) celebrations happening in Skipton to look forward to, including the first ever outdoor 'Pride event' at Aireville Park.

Craven District Council’s cultural services’ team based at Skipton Town Hall has developed a programme of events and has been working alongside community groups and partners such as Craven Youth Council, Skipton Library, SELFA, Craven College, Skipton Town Council and Pioneer Projects to raise awareness and promote equality.

The town council has taken the lead on organising the outdoor event 'Pride in the Park' which will take place from 12 noon until 8pm on Saturday July 2. The day will consist of food and drink stalls, live entertainment including RuPaul’s Drag Race star Baga Chipz and musical group Abba Re- Bjorn.
