ARTISTS Audrey Edwards and Linda Dearden’s joint exhibition, The Canal in Reflection, is running at the Craven Arts Hub, Skipton, until June 18.

Following on from their previous collaboration, Skipton Town in Reflection, in June last year, in which they explored the way shops and businesses reflected the life of the town, their new, The Canal in Reflection shows life on the canal - from the animals who live on it, to the businesses that operate next to it.

They say: “We present paintings which give snapshots of the way in which the canal reflects life - the life of Skipton as it weaves its way through the town and beyond.”

Linda’s paintings aim to capture the reflections on the water of the boats and buildings, while Audrey explores the features of the canal, such as locks and bridges, and tries to show how they are still part of life today.

They add: “Again, our work will explore reflection in both a literal sense and as a metaphor for the changes over the years.

“We hope that it will provide an opportunity for viewers to reflect on and share their thoughts and memories of the canal.”

The Canal in Reflection takes place at The Hub, Caroline Square, at the bottom of Skipton High Street until Saturday, June 18.

The gallery is open on market days, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, from 10.30am to 3.30pm.

Craven Arts is an artist- led organisation and registered charity which aims to support artists from the area and to create a centre for contemporary visual arts in Craven
