MEMBERS of Thornton-in-Craven Cricket Club put on their walking boots back in March and took part in a sponsored walk to raise funds for both the club and Pendleside Hospice in Burnley.

The 20-mile route spanned across Thornton, Barnoldswick, Earby and Kelbrook and in total their fundraising efforts produced a brilliant £3,682.52.

Half of this will go towards a much needed new roof at the club and the other half has been generously donated to Pendleside Hospice.

Leah Hooper, community engagement officer for Pendle Hospice, said: “We are so grateful! These guys are amazing and it’s so kind of them to donate so much money to the hospice when they themselves have a great need at the club.

"Thank you each and every one who took part and donated.”
