A DRIVER, 23, was banned from the road and must pay a total of £655 after admitting being behind the wheel of a VW Golf with a proportion of cocaine in his blood which was higher than the specified limit.
Benjamin Summersgill, of Church Road, Thornton-in-Craven, admitted the offence before magistrates sitting at Harrogate yesterday, June 9. The offence occurred on March 28 this year at Westgate, Otley.
Summersgill was fined £518 and was ordered to pay a surcharge of £52 and costs of £85. He was also disqualified from driving for 12 months.
