A MEMBER of Pendle and Craven Samaritans cycled 100k (62 miles) across London in a single night to raise money for the charity which provides emotional support to anyone in need.
Alan Ingham, of Burnley, has volunteered at his local branch of Samaritans since 2005. He has given thousands of hours of his time to answer the phone and listen to callers in need.
He joined the recent London Nightrider Challenge, passing many landmarks such as Tower Bridge, Trafalgar Square and Buckingham Palace.
A relieved Alan, after finishing, said he had felt like throwing in the towel towards the end, but had 'cracked on'.
This year is the 50th anniversary of the Pendle, Burnley, Rossendale and Craven Samaritans branch.
