MEMBERS of Skipton Civic Society will be encouraging people to 'care about where they live' at a special event outside Skipton Town Hall on Saturday (June 18).

As part of national civic day, organised by Civic Voice, society members will be hosting a stall at the side entrance of the town hall, in Jerry Croft, and talking to people about the look and the future of the town.

In addition to promoting the work of the civic society, which has been going for 60 years, there will be three guided walks, led by Susan Wrathmell and Sheila Clark. The walks will explore the ginnels and paths close to the town centre, and its green spaces, and take a closer look at two buildings, the old Courthouse and St Andrew's Church, recently given grade two listings by Historic England.

The walks will take place at 10am, 12 midday and at 2pm and will last about an hour each time
