CLASSICALLY trained Ukrainian musicians Julia Kogut-Kalynyuk and Kateryna Trachuk will give a concert at Bolton Priory Church on Tuesday (June 28).
The pair, who perform as Dvi Doli, have been in Oxford since May after fleeing the war in Ukraine, leaving behind their families, including Julia's husband.
They are performing to pay their own way in the UK and also to raise money for charities providing humanitarian support to refugees in Ukraine.
The concert, will feature Ukrainian folk songs and jazz accompanied by the bandura and voice. Both women have played the bandura - a traditional Ukrainian instrument, since they were children. Both have masters degrees from Ukraine's leading music conservatory, and have toured all over the world.
This event is being delivered courtesy of the Bolton Abbey Estate and its partners the Priory Church, The Devonshire Arms Hotel and Spa who together have given their time and services free of charge in support of the Ukraine.
Tickets for the concert, at 7.30pm, are available on line at https://boltonabbey.com/whats-on/
