AN adult accompanying a school visit to Long Churn Cave, near Settle, this week needed help after she developed breathing difficulties.

The group had just arrived at the entrance to the cave at Selside at about 10.30am on Tuesday when the woman appeared to be having trouble breathing.

A spokesperson for the Clapham based Cave Rescue Organisation said: "Team members administered oxygen to aid the woman’s breathing and after assessing her medical condition concluded that she was sufficiently stable to be transported down to the road whilst seated in a CRO vehicle.

"She was then transferred to the care of a team from Yorkshire Ambulance Service."
