SKIPTON BID (Business Improvement District) has welcomed eight new directors to its board as it looks to further strengthen the representation of the town’s business community and deliver on its aims and objectives.

The directors were voted in by the existing board of directors at the board meeting on June 21 and are: Saj Anwar, Isaacs Jewellers; Liz Bailey, Teddy Boutique; Jade Bonham, Kibble Bakery; Joanne Briggs, Yorkshire Building Society; Emma Dixon, The Devonshire Inn; Rebecca Elsworth, Elsworth Kitchen; Julian Hotchkiss, Benjamin’s Opticians and Fred Maier, Kooky/Time Out.

Skipton BID’s Board, chaired by Andrew Mear, is responsible for the efficient running of the company and for setting the direction and strategy for the BID.

He said: "Skipton BID is committed to supporting the businesses in the town, be that through promotional activities to attract visitors, offering a safer business environment or improving the overall attractiveness of Skipton. To do this, it’s essential that our board of directors represent the diversity of the businesses that call Skipton home.

"Skipton BID is in year four of its third term. The new directors will bring diversity to the board and with their wealth of knowledge and experience generate new innovative ideas to allow the BID to fulfil their objectives."
