A BUILDER'S labourer was found to have more than the permitted level of cannabis in his system when he was stopped in his car.
Finlay Darwin, 20, of Burnside Avenue, Skipton, was stopped by police in Rockville Drive, Embsay, on April 24 this year.
When they spoke to him they smelled cannabis. His demeanour was slow and he failed a roadside swipe test for the drug, the Crown Prosecution Service said.
A subsequent blood test showed he had 2.7 ug per litre of blood in his system. The permitted limit is 2 ug.
The defendant, appearing at Skipton Magistrates' Court, admitted the offence.
He was disqualified him from driving for 12 months, fined £200 and ordered to pay a surcharge of £34 and costs of £85.
