FOLLOWING two years of absence due to the Covid pandemic the SCAD boat Endeavour has returned to the Leeds Liverpool canal in Skipton.
Boat trips have been operated by SCAD for over 35 years, the first with the original boat The Marjorie Charlesworth and then since 2003 with the purpose-built Endeavour with ramps and lifts facilities for those using wheelchairs.
Trips are run from April to September carrying a variety of groups of 12 people. The boat is now running Monday to Thursday.
The crews are all volunteers with the skippers holding a CCBM qualification from the National Community Boating Association.
A new charity The Spirit of Endeavour Yorkshire has, this year, being formed to administer the running of the boat.
There is an urgent need for new volunteers to help sustain the charity. Full training is given and anyone interested in volunteering should visit the charity's website www.spiritofendeavour.org.uk
