PLANS to create safe mooring for leisure boat The Graceful Swan on the Leeds and Liverpool Canal towpath behind Hotel Rendezvous in Skipton have been submitted to Craven District Council.
Applicant, Michael Sculley, has applied to the council for permission to install two mooring rings/bollards and to make adjustments to allow passengers to safely get on and off the boat, which takes people on cruises along the canal. Access is intended for disabled people too.
Also proposed are 'service pedestals' for charging of the electric boat, watering and waste water management between trips.
The 60ft long electric powered Graceful Swan sits more than 50 people and offers a dining experience along the lines of the world famous Orient Express, says the hotel on its website.
"The elegant and well-appointed interior features sumptuous upholstery, rich fabrics, soft lighting, art deco design and antique fixtures. This is a classical design in a timeless style," says the hotel, which adds it is a new way to enjoy the tranquility of the canal and the Dales.
