MOUNTAIN rescue teams joined forces to help an injured walker near to Great Whernside, Upper Wharfedale.
The female was part of a well equipped Duke of Edinburgh Award team making its way along the bridlepath between Great and Little Whernside at just after 5pm on Saturday.
A spokesperson for the Grassington based UWFRA said: "The team was called out by North Yorkshire Police to assist a female with a groin injury.
"As this is on the team boundary we also called on Swaledale Mountain Rescue Team for assistance. After careful packaging the casualty was placed on our wheeled stretcher for transportation down to the road head.
"We hope the casualty makes a swift recovery and would like to thank our colleagues from Swaledale MRT for their help."
