A FUNDRAISING event in memory of Chris Riley will be held at Glusburn Park on Saturday (August 13).

Organised by friends and family of Steeton man Chris, the event will raise money for Manorlands Hospice. Chris was diagnosed with advanced stomach cancer in 2020 and sadly died in March this year.

Skipton Mayor, Rick Judge will open the event, which will take place from 10am to 5pm, and Harry Hinchcliffe’s Popular Music Ensemble will kick off the entertainment at 11am.

During the afternoon there will be live music on the 'Life of Riley' stage from artists including Undercover 2, Kirsty Brannan and Sweet Pea, also Farrafeld and Connor Walmsley and Callum Spencer.

There will be a licensed bar, lots of family attractions, including a bouncy castle and slide, and hot and cold refreshments. There will also be a charity auction of items including a signed Blackburn Rovers football, including Alan shearers signature, a brand new Bradford City signed current season football shirt, a family ticket to see Bradford City play, boxes of wine, and a year's membership to The Forge Gym, Silsden.

Top prize in a raffle is a 50 Inch 4K Ultra HD television, second prize a two day autumn break in the Lake District at The Windermere Hotel and third prize, a luxury Champagne summer hamper.

Entry is free, with all donations and proceeds from the event going to Manorlands. Parking will be available at South Craven School.
