UPPER Wharfedale Fell Rescue was called out twice yesterday (Sunday) after a man fell into a stream at Park Rash, injuring himself and to a walker with a suspected broken leg on Buckden Pike.
The first call to the team came at just before 2pm. Yorkshire Ambulance Service needed assistance after a 73-year old man fell seven metres into a stream at Park Rash, near Kettlewell, sustaining injuries to his back and knee.
A spokesperson for Grassington based UWFRA said: "The team extracted the casualty and transported him to a waiting road ambulance by stretcher."
Then, at 7.40pm, the team were called out by police to a 55 year old woman who had sustained a suspected broken leg on the path up to Buckden Pike above the Raikes, again near Kettlewell.
The spokesperson said: "The team deployed two vehicles and were able to transfer the casualty by stretcher to the road ambulance.
"We would like to wish both casualties a speedy recovery."
