PEOPLE are being invited to lay flowers in the garden of Holy Trinity Church, Skipton in commemoration of the Queen.

A book of condolence has also been opened inside the church for people to sign and make tributes.

Tomorrow (Saturday), a flag over the church will be raised at 11am in celebration of the new Monarch, King Charles III.

On Sunday, there will be a service of Holy Communion at 8am and at 10am there will be a special commemoration service marking the death of the Queen.

The flag will be lowered at 1pm and at 4pm the church bells will be run in proclamation of King Charles.

On Wednesday, September 14 at 10.45am there will be a service of communion and at midday, prayer commemorating the Queen.

On Sunday, September 18, Holy Communion will take place at 9.45am, and at 6pm, a special vigil service on the eve of the Queen's funeral.
