POLICE in Lancashire are appealing for witnesses after burglars attempted to take a safe from Skipton Building Society in Colne.
A spokesperson for Colne and West Craven Police said the branch office on Albert Road was entered at around 1.40am yesterday (Thursday).
The spokesperson said: "The suspects have attempted to steal a large safe from the building. After being disturbed, they have left empty-handed. No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing."
Police are appealing to anyone who may have CCTV or dashcam footage, or any information.
Anyone with any information is asked to call police on the non-emergency number 101, quoting the log number 0101 of 15 September, 2022 or email forcecontrolroom@lancashire.police.uk.
People can also report information anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
