THE Coniston Hotel was the venue for the Ground Source Heat Pump Association’s conference and charity dinner where £2,500 was raised for good causes including Blood Cancer UK, Walking with Giants foundation, Young persons Advisory Service and The Florrie charity.
Speakers discussed ‘hot topics’ within the ground source and renewable energy sector.
This year’s guests included Dr Jan Rosenow principal and European programme director for RAP, Dr Alan Whitehead Shadow Minister for Climate Change and Net Zero, as well as Dr Matthew Aylott senior policy adviser, Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy. The Conference also received video messages of support from Patrick Harvie of the Scottish Parliament and Ed Sherriff - Deputy Director of Energy (Welsh Government).
TV personality Ricky Tomlinson hosted the dinner that featured a live auction with TV auctioneer Steve Parkinson and live music from Viva Lucia.
Stephen Bielby, GSHPA operations manager said:“We are once again overwhelmed by the generosity of our members especially during these tough times, it’s great to see that we can make a positive difference to the lives of other people with our conference and charity dinner”.
