IF you are looking for an evening of laughter and merriment this festive period, look no further than Skipton Comedy Live: Christmas special.

The special Christmas edition of comedy live, presented by Plane Comedy at Skipton Town Hall on Friday, December 16, will feature some of the best stand-up the UK has to offer.

Regular MC Colin Manford will be hosting three comedians guaranteed to ‘ have your sides splitting’ while the Hub theatre bar will be open throughout the evening.

Josh Jones, from Manchester, is a high-energy performer who wins the audience over from the off.

This super camp Manchester lad, can tackle a range of subjects from school yard politics to gay rights in Pakistan and is able to improvise on the fly creating razor sharp observations.”

In just five years Josh has gone from open spot to a TV regular, with appearances on E4’s 8 Out of 10 Cats, ITV’s Jonathan Ross’ Comedy Club and Channel 5’s Goes Horribly Wrong series. He has hosted BBC Three’s Fast Food Face Of, and recently appeared on The Jonathan Ross Show .

2022 saw Josh nominated for Dave’s Edinburgh Comedy Award Best Newcomer at the Fringe for his critically acclaimed sell-out show Waste of Space. He was previously a finalist in the prestigious BBC New Comedy Award, which he subsequently went on to Judge on BBC Three.

George Lewis is a stand-up comedian and writer from Stockport. He has appeared on the BBC New Talent Hotlist, was the winner of Celebrity Mastermind, hosted the Britpopcast podcast (Radio X) and Top Gear Extra Gear, and has appeared as a regular on ITV2’s The Stand Up Sketch Show.

A talented comedy writer, George has written for some of the biggest shows on TV and radio, including 8 Out of 10 Cats, Have I Got News For You, and Hypothetical, BBC Radio 4. George also has a weekly football column in The Times.

Danny Sutcliffe, from Manchester, has been performing stand up for over 10 years and has only been knocked unconscious once – that was his best gig.

With his unique style and ability he has been recognised as one of the most gifted emerging talents on the UK comedy scene. His set consists of a mixture of clever one liners and slick jokes that leaves you aching from laughing, definitely one of those acts that makes a lasting impression. He is a regular on the festival circuit including Beat-Herder, Sawley.
