A CRAVEN primary school offered its pupils a unique event when teachers invited a range of business and vocational professionals into school as part of a jobs and skills fair.
The event took place on December 2 and saw children from reception to year 6 working in mixed age groups to enjoy a wide range of activities presented by genuine business and professional people from a while spectrum of skills.
They included a greetings card designer, cake topper designer, business entrepreneur/bushcraft leader, beekeeper, structural engineer, vet, GP, digital forensics investigator, audiologist, public safety officer, bovine hoof care, garden designer/horticulturalist and a Hope bike technician.
Headteacher Charity Orviss said it was an amazing and hugely successful event which was unique to a primary school and one which she hopes will form part of the school’s annual calendar of events.
She said: “The event was organised by our PSHE (personal, social, health and economic) leader, Rebecca Nelson, who wanted to give this opportunity to our pupils in order to begin to prepare them for the choices that they will have to make as they progress through their education. Everyone learned something new - including the teachers.”
