LOTHERSDALE Primary School has received a welcome boost of £685 from the The Hare and Hounds pub in the village - and it's all down to onion rings.

For every portion of onion rings sold in the last year the pub has donated 50p to the school.

Darren Dunn who runs the Hare and Hounds, said: "Its just a great way of us helping the local community, our guests love the onion rings, so with 50p going to the school from every portion its just another excuse to order and enjoy them."

Darren did the same thing when he was at the Lister Arms in Malham and donated thousands of pounds to Kirkby Malham Primary school over the years.

The £685 will be used towards a project to make Lothersdale Primary School's playground a more fun and safer place for the children to enjoy.
