VOLUNTEER group Earby Guerilla Gardens has received a cheque for £3,532 from the Co-Op’s Local Community Fund.
Jasmin Laurie, Co-Op local member pioneer, said: “We select new causes for funding every 12 months and this round of funding Co-op members have raised a total of £10,494.45 for our three local causes.
“Every time a Co-op member scans their card, 2p from every £1 spent goes towards these causes. I’m so proud of our community, because this wouldn’t have been possible without them, they are the ones that have raised these funds.”
Amanda Inman, Chair of EGG , thanked everyone who voted for the group. “The money will be used to plan and develop initiatives and events for Earby focusing on our central theme of ‘Sow Grow Eat’ and also to develop links with partners who are involved or interested with the growing of food, cooking and sourcing local products.”
