MEMBERS of Skipton Athletic Club's running club donned festive outfits and raised just under £1,340 for the Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association at their annual Christmas fun run.

A spokesperson for Grassington based Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association said the organisation was very grateful for the donation, and added that some of its members even took part in the fun run.

"We are always eternally grateful for the donations and efforts people go to to raise funds for UWFRA. "We would particularly like to thank Darren Lambert and Skipton AC running club for raising money for us at their annual Christmas fun run in December.

"A staggering £1,339.69 was raised and a superb night was had by all - a few team members took part in the fun but were suitably disguised in fancy dress."

UWFRA has been rescuing people and animals from the caves and fells around Wharfedale, Nidderdale, Littondale and Mid-Airedale for years.
