SKIPTON homewares store, Boyes, in Swadford Street, is expanding into the former Poundland shop which was accessed both through the rear of Boyes and from an entrance facing the bus station.

Poundland closed after the lease for the premises ended in February last year.

Work has started on refurbishing the large retail space. Official confirmation of the expansion has yet to be received from Boyes, though it is understood that some of the clothing and homewares range currently on the first floor is being brought down to accommodate the new floor space with the haberdashery section remaining on the first floor.

Boyes has been contacted for details of when the extension is expected to be open.
