MORE than 40 people attended a recent Action on Climate Emergency (ACE) meeting in Settle to discuss making the town a Fair Trade Community.
They heard from Liz Roodhouse from Fairtrade Skipton, who explained how Skipton became a Fairtrade Town and how Fairtrade was helping farming communities overseas.
Commenting, Melanie Fryer who leads the ACE Food Group said: “There is a lot of enthusiasm in Settle to become a Fairtrade Community with several events being planned.
Choosing Fair Trade is best for both people and the planet. It could help to save products such as chocolate, bananas and a cup of tea.”
