GRASSINGTON is set to see the return of a monthly food market on Sunday (March 19).

Real Markets, which also runs markets in Skipton and Ilkley, will be running an event in Grassington's Market Square on the third Sunday of the month between March to September.

Lynne Owen, chair of the Grassington Chamber of Trade, said: "We are pleased to welcome a regular market back to Grassington. We have chosen Real Markets as we know they will bring quality produce serving both our community and our visitors."

Known as 'Yorkshire’s Friendliest Markets', Real Markets was set up to offer a positive community hub, bring expert producers and makers together, while also supporting local community initiatives and charities.

Included in the Grassington Market will be fresh fish, cheese,fruit and vegetables, oils, sauces, charcuterie and cakes.

Lucy Allen, director of Real Markets, added: “Real Markets’ remit has always been to work hard on behalf of our stallholders and the community and bring people together over great produce and fabulous products in a warm and friendly atmosphere. 

"We’re very proud of the range and quality of the stallholders at our markets and this new venues will be a wonderful opportunity for small traders to meet new customers. We’re happy to hear from producers who would like to work with us and also charities and community groups local to Grassington who would like a free space at our markets to promote their work.”
