IT was a case of surreptitiously whipping off the leprechaun topper near Barnoldswick town centre which had been made for St Patrick's Day and replacing it with a topper for all mums on Mother's Day.
The deed was managed by the Barlick Yarn Fairies who regularly, and anonymously, create crocheted piiar box toppers for the town and surrounding areas to commemorate a variety of occasions.
The nimble-fingered friends are very gifted and appear to be able to turn their hand to anything, like this display of crocheted daffodils on a pillar box outside the old post office, opposite the bus station.
