A COWLING resident has posted video clips taken last weekend of speeding vehicles along Keighley Road, Cowling.

Gillian Taylor said: "This is just a snapshot of our weekend in Cowling. Best with the sound up!"

She has been campaigning for average speed cameras through the village and said of the examples of dangerous driving: "We are blighted by this. We have hours of footage."Her story was recentky aired on the BBC Breakfast programme."

She launched a campaign on Change.org which can be seen here

It has already gained more than 1,000 signatures and has been endorsed throughout Craven, including in Long Preston where Cllr Chris Moorby is also calling for fixed or average speed cameras.

Gillian is urging as many people as possible to watch the video and sign the petition to try and persuade North Yorkshire Police to look at installing fixed cameras.

She added: "We’re actually calling for average speed cameras as the police keep making excuses about fixed. Lancashire rolled out average speed cameras through villages and it was so successful they are now rolling out more. West Yorkshire the same."
