MEMBERS of Skipton Ukulele Club have said a big thank-you to all those who supported their fundraising efforts on a wet Saturday in Skipton to raise money for the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) Turkey- Syria earthquake appeal.
The club played in Jerry Croft, entertaining shoppers in the town, and despite downpours, raised around £600.
A spokesperson said: "We had 55 minutes of no rain before a downpour. The rain couldn't stop us though from finishing our full hour of songs. The total raised as of 6pm March 25 was approaching £600, from both cash and JustGiving donations.
Our JustGiving page is open for a few more weeks and we will happily take donations at: http://bit.ly/3YSq41t .
