BROUGHAM Street Nursery School is celebrating achieving a Level 5 School Gardening Award from the RHS.
The nursery has received a plaque to celebrate its success, a certificate and £200 of gardening vouchers. The prize money has been shared between the baby room, toddler room and nursery school classrooms.
To achieve the award the nursery school children had to demonstrate that they could talk enthusiastically about their garden and inform others of the plants they have growing and any projects or activities they had done. They also had to demonstrate what gardening skills they had learnt and passed onto others in the community.
Everyone involved enjoyed planting seeds at Whinny Gill with Skipton Town Council and helping Joel in the community allotments.
With the better weather approaching and teh flowers blooming, the children will be able to make more use of their garden area and watch out for the 'minibeasts' they are encouraging.
