ORGANISERS of Saturday's (June 10) Skipton Gala are hoping for another weekend of glorious weather.
The procession will get underway at 1pm and will set off from Westmoreland Street, making its way down Sackville Street, onto the High Street and then Gargrave Road to the gala field at Aireville Park. There will be rolling road closures for the procession which will include both floats and walking groups.
Nine-year old Megan Davies will be crowned gala queen at around 1.45pm after which there will be a programme of entertainment including Jamba Samba drumming band, the Silsden All Stars, Yorkshire Voices and Craven Gymnastics.
There will also be Waddington's Funfair and the event will end with fireworks at late dusk. Entry is £1 to the gala field.
The gala is organised by a small committee of volunteers, with the help of Skipton Town Council with the road closures. Last year, the event raised more than £2,000 for local good causes.
