A NUMBER of events have been organised across Craven for national Refugee Week, which runs from Monday, June 19 to June 25.

Organised by Craven District of Sanctuary and Craven Refugee Support Network, events will include talks, presentations, awareness sessions, poetry reading and music.

A presentation via Zoom at 7pm on June 19 will provide 'everything you wanted to know about refugee and asylum matters but were too afraid to ask' Book a place by emailing: angie.pedley@gmail.com.

An evening of stories, poems and music and a speaker at Skipton Library on June 20 from 7pm to 9.30pm; Ukrainian music and food at Settle Victoria Hall, Settle, on June 21 from midday to 2pm; Bentham Area Refugee Support Group will be raising awareness of the proposed new Illegal Migrants Bill on Bentham Main Street on June 24 from 10am to midday; Poetry and prose, coffee and cake, at Settle Library on June 24 from 2.30pm to 4.30pm; Information and awareness session on June 24 in Skipton High Street, from 10am to 12.30pm.

There will also be displays at Bentham, Ingleton, Settle and Skipton libraries and at Skipton Town Hall.
