FULL plans to build 30 new homes at the edge of Barnoldswick are being recommended for approval.

Members of the West Craven Committee of Pendle Council are due to decide on the application for land next to Meadow Way, Skipton Road, at their meeting on Tuesday (July 4).

Public objections to the plans, by Tabley Homes (Barnoldswick), include impact on the listed Greenberfield Locks, strain on the area's infrastructure, traffic concerns and overlooking.

Outline planning permission for the site, which is outside the settlement boundary of Barnoldswick and located in open countryside, was given following an appeal to the Planning Inspectorate. Two previous refusals by the council had been upheld on appeal.

Tuesday's meeting at 6.45pm will take place at The Rainhall Centre, Barnoldswick.
