A PERSON has died on the railway line between Skipton and Shipley, British Transport Police has confirmed.
Emergency services were called to Cononley station at 9.55am today, Tuesday, July 18. It has been confirmed that a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: "Officers were called to Cononley railway station at 9.55am today to a report of a casualty on the tracks.
“Paramedics also attended however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
Train services between Skipton and Shipley were blocked this morning as emergency services dealt with the incident.
Northern has confirmed the line between Skipton and Shipley is now open.
No further information has been released by the emergency services.
