A SHORT guided walk exploring the fascinating history of Barnoldswick is due to take place on the evening of Thursday, August 24.
Organised by Barnoldswick History Society, the event is open to all. Amongst the interesting buildings and landmarks to be seen on the tour will be to see the site of the town's old Cooperative building (pictured).
The Barnoldswick History Society/K Lofthouse photograph was taken in 1987 and shows the old Co-op before it was demolished to make way for the Town Square just two years after the picture was taken. It had stood in the town since 1907.
All are welcome to the tour on Thursday, August 24; it will start at 6pm from the Town Square.
The history society was founded in 1975 and is based in the OAP Centre in Frank Street. Find it on Facebook.
