THE A59 between Skibeden roundabout, on the outskirts of Skipton, and Bolton Abbey is currently closed due to a serious accident.
Police are urging motorists to avoid the area and to seek alternative routes.
The force's traffic bureau posted at 7.35am today (Thursday): "The road is expected to be closed for a number of hours. Please avoid the area."
