SOPRANO Alexandra Lowe is returning to Bolton Priory Church, Bolton Abbey on Saturday, September 2 bringing with her a celebration of music from the British Isles.
Guests include baritone Dominic Sedgwick, harpist Ciorstaidh Beaton, bagpiper Cameron Edgar and conductor, pianist, and organist Michael Papadopoulos.
Dominic, who trained with Alexandra at the Royal Opera House and who has performed with her several times, including with the British Youth Opera, replaces tenor Ryan Vaughan-Davies, who was due to take part in the concert, but had to withdraw.
She said: "As many know, I have been performing at Bolton Abbey for over 10 years now and it has a very special place in my heart. Many of the audience members who have supported me over the years are sadly no longer with us, and I would like to dedicate this concert to them.
"There will be a variety of songs performed inspired by the British Isles, representing the respective heritages of our performers Wales, Scotland, and England - though we will of course perform some Irish music as well," she added.
The event on September 2 starts at 7.30pm. Tickets at £25, to include interval drink; email: caroldawson26@gmail.com
