HERITAGE open days were celebrated at churches across the county including at St Mary’s Church, Thornton-in-Craven.
More than 150 visitors were welcomed to the church in Thornton over two days where there was an exhibition of art by local artists, including pieces for sale.
There was also a display of old photographs and documents from the Earby and District Local History Society, which included images of haymaking; and also cakes and refreshments.
Heritage open weekend in the Benefice of Broughton, Marton and Thornton, also saw St Peter’s Church, East Marton, open for two days where people were invited to go along and take a look inside the ancient church. Refreshments were also on offer .
