THE Craven Makers and Vintage Crafts is holding its first Autumn Makers Fair at Gargrave Village Hall on Saturday, October 7, 10am ‘til 2pm to showcase the work of 25 local artists and makers.

The event is free of charge and throughout the day many of the makers will demonstrate their skills and answer questions about their makes.

The Craven area has long been known for its heritage skills, many of which have been passed down the generations or combined with modern techniques. They include watercolour, felting, ceramics, mixed media artworks, papercrafts, polymer clay, gemstone jewellery, macrame, knitwear, kite making, textile art, floristry, crochet, leathercraft and stone engraving. We are really keen to bring people together to celebrate the skills and experience we have locally. Around half the makers signed up to the event are from Gargrave itself, with others located in Skipton, Settle, and Barnoldswick.
