THE first Concert&Cakes of Autumn is taking place at All Saints’ Church, Button in Lonsdale, on Saturday 21st October at 2.30 pm and will be introducing the Hercules Jazz Duo.
The musicians combine music from around the world to create a unique sound. They are John Kelly, on saxophone, and Calum Montgomery,on drums, and their music bridges the gap between Latin American music, traditional jazz and contemporary classical music to create a unique performance.
Concert&Cakes was started 10 years ago by Christine Wardle, Cathy Rowland and Steve Vose in Burton in Lonsdale. It’s a real village event, but one which brings in lots of visitors from across the area. There is an hour of music followed by coffee, tea and cakes, when everyone stays for a chat and to meet the musicians.
