A MAN who had collapsed near Pecca Bridge, on the outward leg of Ingleton Waterfalls Trail, near Thornton in Lonsdale, was carried by stretcher to a waiting ambulance by members of the Cave Rescue Organisation yesterday, October 15.
The team, along with the Yorkshire Ambulance Service and air ambulance was called out at 11.43am to a report a man, 80, had collapsed.
After assessment by the team’s doctor and being given sugary sweets, the casualty was stretchered up to a team Land Rover after the helicopter had been called away to a higher priority incident.
After a further check-up, the casualty was driven to his holiday accommodation where YAS paramedics were able to assess him using equipment from their road ambulance.
