AFTER a year of fundraising by dedicated volunteers calling themselves the Bell Busk Community Action team - which involved Coniston Cold’s first pop-up pub, a sponsored silence from the noisiest residents and various raffles, the first defibrillator is now in situ and operating in Bell Busk.

The defibrillator is situated at Green Grove Country House so it is accessible for everyone who needs to use it and it is registered with the emergency services.

Zoe Sharp secretary of the BBCA said: ”The footfall in the area has increased in the last few years with walkers, cyclists, dog walkers, residents and even more traffic. We feel we owe it to the many tourists and locals who frequent this area to be able to provide a nearby defibrillator should the need arise.”

The BBCA ia in the process of further fundraising for a second defibrillator in Coniston Cold. Another pop-up pub is planned for December 2 so keep a look out for details, with other events and raffles planned over coming months.
