A PROPOSED extension to Milton House nursing home in Gargrave has been given the go-ahead by North Yorkshire Council.
Listed building consent, because the building is grade two listed, has also been allowed for the work which will see the addition of four new ensuite rooms for residents, a wet room, and a visitor room. There will also be an open plan sunroom and manager's accommodation in the roof space.
The work will also mean the demolition of an existing light weight conservatory at the home in Marton Road.
Gargrave Parish Council was initially concerned about the potential of flooding, but following the receipt of amended plans, removed its objection.
A planning officer's report stated that subject to conditions, the extension would not be harmful to neighbours and that parking on site was adequate.
