AN open day at Skipton's Broughton Road Community Centre was an opportunity for people to meet some of the trustees, find out what goes on at the centre and to enjoy a meet up with neighbours.
At the open day were representatives of the groups that use the centre regularly, including Body and Soul Yoga; Purple Patch Arts a group providing creative activities for learning disabled and autistic adults.
There were also members from Skipton Step Into Action carrying out health checks, and younger members of the community who supervised the craft activities for the children.
The centre was greatly enhanced by a display of art completed by attendees of the Monday's well being cafe. People were encouraged to make suggestions for future activities and ideas for extending the outreach of the centre.
Broughton Road Community Centre was set up as a charity eight years ago and is run by a group of trustees. Its mission is to be a community resource for all supporting a broad range of activities at the heart of the Broughton Road community.
