SKIPTON girls' football coach, Sophie Hawkins, has seen her hard work pay off as five of her charges sign professional contracts with big clubs.

Proteges Milly Charlton, 13, Flo Charlton, 10, Frankie Busfield, 11, and Violet Appleby, 9, have all signed for Burnley, while Lola Hird, 12, has signed for York City.
Sophie, 23, who has seen success herself in Bradford and Leeds is currently playing for Skipton Ladies. She started her soccer journey when she was four playing for Embsay Juniors. At U15s signed for Leeds United Centre of Excellence and then later for Bradford City.

Her goal is to inspire the next generation of girls and to promote girls' football and give them opportunities. She set up her football business, Select Football, after leaving college.

She added: It’s a huge achievement for these talented girls. Select Football gives players an opportunity to excel within the game and to be seen by scouts."
